I have been in the industry for 32 years. I started my career with the opportunity to attend the most elite beauty school in the nation...Horst International Education Center. The man who established the school is also the one that created Aveda products and the training is Vidal Sasson based! Upon finishing school at the top of my class, I was hired at one of the 2 very best salons in Minneapolis/St. Paul. There you had to choose which area you wanted to specialize in. I chose haircutting because I absolutely love the creativity and freedom you have to sculpt the hair however you choose it to be. At Rocco Altobelli we were required to attend an advanced training salon where we were we were trained their philosophy which also was Vidal Sassoon based. I spent 2 years in one of their 9 salons and that included once a month advanced training. My 2nd job was a very high end salon in California where you did both color and cut. I very much focused my advanced training on becoming a color (chemical) specialist. In the next 4 years I attended Redken education and had the opportunity to train under the most renowned color expert in our industry. Within under a year of training I became a certified Redken Color Specialist! So in an 8 year span of time I received all the best advanced education to become a cutting and color specialist! I then went on to open my own salon where I was the best salon in town. Lastly I moved to Phoenix and worked for Stephanie's which was one of the top salons in the west valley. After working there 6 years and within 1 year was the number 1 stylist as well as the salon educator. And lastly I currently work at Monogram Salon Suites and have been there 14 years self employed!

EVERYTHING!! I am one of the very few and far between that was blessed with a God given gift that I recognized in my pre-teens. I was cutting, coloring, perming, styling, and braiding my own hair as well as my friends and family's hair. I always knew what I wanted to do when I grew up and did not hesitate after graduating high school to pursue hairdressing!!
