John Curley Photography
About
Hi, and thanks for taking a look at my work.
My name is John Curley, and I deliver stunningly elegant n llldding, portrait and event photogr ten I have a broad portfolio of clients, including magazines and newspapers, big companies and small companies, and many private individuals. I am also one of Burning Man's official photographers, and I've been documenting the building (and burning) of Black Rock City in words and pictures for the past ei years.
My shooting style is fine-art documentary -- concentrating on the decisive moment, beautiful light, and perfect composition.
I worked in newspapers in my first career, and at the time I left that profession, I was a deputy managing editor at the San Francisco Chronicle, where I was in charge of Page One and the other news sections of the paper.
For the past decade, my life has been about photography (with a bit of teaching on the side, including a two-year stint at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism).
I'm passionate about my work, and I'm constantly improving my craft. I also help others who are interested in learning about photography, through private mentoring.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to create photos that you'll love.
