Photography As An Art
About
After 30 years photographing people and events, my clients have learned that they always end with the kind of results they had dreamt of getting. I make it fun to be in front of my camera and at the same time pay close attention to details. I'm the most well-know photographer in Burbank CA and the surrounding areas. I repeatedly am voted number one photographer in the local newspaper poles. I'm very active in the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Burbank, the Burbank Chamber of Commerce and Burbank BNI. If you want to get to know people, I'm one of the most networked people in town. My philosophy is that we are all distant cousins - all coming from those first people on the planet.

When my clients tell me how pleased they are with the photography that I deliver to them, that makes my day!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most important is to get to know one another either by phone or if possible, face to face. It is important that we have a good understanding of what is expected by the client and that they know what they will be paying for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My professional training came from one of the world's leading photography instructors, Ms. Bobbi Lane. Bobbi and have become best friends since my classes with her over 30 years ago.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
There are too many options to have a standard pricing system since I offer my services in many areas. A family portrait is too different from photographing a Gala or products.
How did you get started in this business?
In the mid 1970's I entered the Malibu Art Festival displaying my scenic photography with custom framing and to my surprise went home with the first place award in color photography. I did the art-fair circuit locally and continued getting similar awards, but it was not profitable enough to continue and stopped such marketing. About 1990, a friend asked me to photograph her wedding as she couldn't afford a professional photographer. Having never wanting such responsibility, I found I enjoyed it and started promoting my self as a professional wedding photographer. A couple of years later, I mastered studio lighting and opened my studio in Burbank.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The list is extremely broad. My passion is to photograph families and especially when it includes three, four, and even five generations. I've photographed infants from days old to elder people in their nineties. I have many non-profits that hire me year in year out. Burbank Water and Power is only one of many my long-standing clients. Product photography is another of my services.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently went to a long-standing client, Ernest Packaging located in the City of Commerce to photograph their leading sales people of the year, their warehouse team, their sales person of the year, and employee of the year. These photographs get put into the frames that are on display when people walk into their reception area. This is a great way to show off how much they appreciate their employees.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Be sure to meet with your photographer and be sure your personalities match well. Also, take the time to go over the fee structure so you are clear on what to expect for the cost of using the particular professional.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
How important is it that the photographs are well composed and properly lite. If the finished product is going to be valued for years to come, what is the budget that one can pay.
