About
To me photography is an art form comprised of observation, cpmposition, and the execution of technical skills. Many photographers are intent on documenting the moment but I am always looking for something different....an unusual angle, the strategic use of light and color, and an uncluttered background. My aim is always to create photographs that are compelling, artistic, and memorable.
I am very passionate about my work, am very easy to work with, and I have a way of making people of all ages feel comfortable. I have done weddings, family photos, and event photography for over 15 years, both in the Palm Springs area and in Minneapolis where I am from and where I still have family and ties to the community there. I have a website that contains a number of galleries of different types of photos. Most of my business is from referrals. I do not as yet have much of a presence on social media but I have just recently hired someone to set up a facebook business account. I have three electronic brochures that I can e-mail so you can see some examples of my work along with several testimonials.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to get as much information as possible about what the client is looking for in terms of photography and I work with the client to stay within the client's budget. E-mailing back and forth is fine, but I like the personal aspect of talking to and/or meeting with the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attending and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have a background in marketing. I have always had a love for and excelled in photography from a very early age and I have also been a writer of books and magazine articles. My 4th photo-oriented book will be published in July, 2017. I consider myself a story teller both with words and with photos
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system or packages. I am extremely flexible and I quote the prices of my services not by the hour but by the job and I always consider the client's budget.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in photography while living in Minneapolis an dbeing a member of Meet Minneapolis which is the convention and visitors bureau there. I moved to Palm Springs in 2009 and began doing assignments for Palm Springs Life and networked very quickly and began doing family photos at several exclusive clubs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with families, couples, magazines, corportate clients for conventions and conferences, fundraising galas, and private parties.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently was selected to photograph the Toyota Delaers of Canada annual conference here in Palm Springs attended by about 800 people. Cars for 2018 were introduced and I photographed speakers, speakers on stage with new models, awards presentaions, evening gala, etc. The photos were spectacular and it is likely that I will be hired for the next Toyota event in Las Vegas this year
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
My advise is to ask a lot of questions and view samples of the photographer's work. Also, try to meet personally with the vendor to make sure there is a positive chemistry.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
Customers should consider price but not just price alone. Some vendors whether they are caterers, florists, photographer, officiants, etc. will low-ball a price and not provide the best services. Often people's expectations are fairly low and they are satisfied with mediocre work. With me, I always exceed customer's expectations
