At Food First Events, we strive to serve the best ingredients, sourced from the best places! Our staff is dedicated to your needs and wants. We give all of our clients and events our full attention! Our chef and owner, David Gussin’s background includes heading up some of LA's hottest restaurants as Executive Chef: STK, Fig & Olive and Cleo. These experiences as the executive chef managing a brigade of 50 cooks and servers is what elevates Food First Events beyond your everyday catering company! We have since worked with clients such as Kevin Lee (shi shi shi) and his clients, True Religion Jeans, the Housewives of Beverly Hills, E! Entertainment, CBRE, Estee Lauder, and many more. We specialize in every type of service ranging from our amazing drop off catering to full blown weddings with a staff of 50. We work with many budgets and are excited to hear about your upcoming event! We are extremely passionate about food, wine, spirits and service! 2005 Graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program. 14 years professional experience in fine dining restaurants and catering in Los Angeles and Chicago.

We have a range of services from wedding receptions with organic ingredients to corporate luncheon drop offs. We work with a range of budgets and styles! We typically work with a $1500 minimum
How did you get started in this business?
It's been a passion of mine since I was a child as I cooked along side my grandmother. I entered culinary school at 19!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We did a beautiful wedding on the beach in Malibu, the waves were crashing, the birds were soaring above… There was an amazing spread of sushi stations, a carving station with organic filet mignon, silken potatoes and bordelaise. as well as hors d'oeuvres, and three other live stations!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't settle for a caterer that didn't hone their skills in Michelin rated restaurants! Be wary of additional fees from other caterers! We attempt to be as transparent with our pricing!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Where have you studied your cuisine? Be wary of a lot of untrained catering chefs whom started because their freinds said they are good cooks.
