Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Just contact me, we can discuss your music needs and if were available for the date of the event, then we can discuss the budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied music since third grate starting with the trumped. Played trombone 5 through 12 grade and piano, organ, keyboard from age 14 to present. I played gospel music from age 14 to 35 in churches. I'm currently the music director for a church but at age 35 I ventured into playing secular music for various artists and band. Everything from Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin, etc. I also performed on cruise ships.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We currently are a 3-piece band with a lead vocal, guitar, keyboard. We pre-record the bass and drums to provide a full band sound without the "full band" price. The fixed price for the trio is $800 for 3 hours.
How did you get started in this business?
I've loved performing my whole life but I began my career as an insurance agent. At age 35, I got tired of being micromanaged and decided to persue a career in music and never looked back!
What types of customers have you worked with?
So far I've had a lot of shows doing private birthday parties with folks ages 40 and up.
We are currently featured at Omni La Costa's Bar Traza on Friday evenings.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
You get what you pay for. Keep live music alive. Hire a band for you next event!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Consider how much work it is to perform live music and that we are all professionals that have dedicated many hours in training and practice to be where we are. Consider how much it would cost to hire a group of professionals in any other service.
