Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically communicate with a new customer by texting or phone call. I ask a lot of questions to see if we are a good fit and I listen carefully. I then set up an appointment to perform the services needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education includes a bachelors degree in Business, a teaching credential, and a cosmetology license. In addition, I have trained with elite stylists over a 16 year period and take online education regularly.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Because so many clients have different types, lengths, and textures of hair I like to charge hourly. One hour of my time is $75 and is based on a proven track record of delivering results. I only take one client at a time so you get my full attention and you do not pay for time spent on others. The exception is my regular clients who have color and cuts every 4-6 weeks; they pay one set price regardless of what services need to be done or how much time it takes.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in the business by leaving one career to do what I knew I would love and that was in 2006. I have never regretted it. I'm a mature woman who knows her worth and I am serious about my craft and making people happy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I regularly work with women who are going gray, have thinning hair and like to look younger. I also have young college age women and new moms who need low maintenance colors and cuts. I do men's scissor cuts, children, and women.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
During the Pandemic I have not been able to attend or do weddings and events, but that enabled me to travel and go to other places. I recently went to Magnolia Farms in Texas and enjoyed sight seeing in Waco.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice is to be specific about what your hair is like now, and what your goal is for the future. Most hair transformations take time and cannot be achieved in one appointment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about your total budget you are realistically prepared to spend. I find that EVERYONE wants to save money and stretch their dollar, but at the same time they want their hair to look and feel as healthy and beautiful as their favorite influencers and stars. If price is the most important thing then choose someone who is inexpensive. If quality and results are important then be open minded to what it will realistically cost and how long it will take.
