About
Creating visuals is both science and art. My photography and video clients benefit from my decades of experience in news, events, group and individual projects. I have had to solve challenging and technical lighting and background problems as well as working with persons who need and deserve extra kindness and professional care.
The part I like the most is when clients and I discuss what they want from the session and then, working together, we arrive at images that please them and fulfill our communcation goals. Communication is key.
I do not knock cell phone photography as some professionals do. "What's the best camera?" I ask, answer: the one you have with you which most of the time is your handy cellphone. Their technology has advanced to the point where the image quality is verey good if you use it as a professional tool. I prefer to use my DSLR cameras as they have far more control and versatility.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication: Job # 1 even for an artist and/or media producer.
Dear Client: collaboration is at the heart of visual art production. While I - as the photographer - may have unmatched technical expertise and a discerning eye, it is you the client who must be satisfied with the final product. Clear communication between photographer and client is critical. Photography is both a representative science and art and so in business and professional circles, the image will deliver an impression of the whole organization including as to how well it is run, how reliably it operates and how competent it is in executing its goals and values. Representing these values is a big responsibility, shared between photographer and client working together as a team.
My work process follows this pattern:
1. Initial convesation: what are you the clent's expectations: what results are you looking for?
2. Where will the images be seen or displayed?
3. When and where do you want the photo session to take place?
4. Let's discuss a practical and workable budget.
5. When are the images to be delivered and how?
6. Is the desired "vibe" casual or formal?
7. Work payment is due at the time of the photo session.
