Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I'll speak with the client through text or on the phone. Text usually works best as pictures can be sent on behalf of the client for reference. Then I'll send over my prices or packages based on what the client is wanting. After agreeing to the rates, I will send over a contract where upon signing I will need a 50% service deposit. Once this has been confirmed and completed, I will send over a schedule for makeup and/or hair to have a smooth day for both client and myself. Communication will be open between client and myself should they have any questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am completely self taught with makeup and later in my career assisted several Vogue published artists.
I attended Paul Mitchell Miami for Cosmetology School.
How did you get started in this business?
My love of makeup started when I was 11 when I started experimenting with two lipsticks and a trio of eyeshadows from a local dollar store. From there I'd play with makeup on myself or family and friends. That grew to taking clients when I was 15 which is around the same time I started with hairstyling. From there I continued to take clients until I was 20 and decided I needed to go to Cosmetology school. I participated in several fashion shows there and upon graduating and getting licensed, I worked in a salon for a few months but ultimately decided it wasn't for me. After that I began my career working with different production studios and artist agencies and that's when my career really took off.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Brides, bridal parties, quinceañeras, sweet sixteens, proms, bat mitzvahs, celebrities, pageant queens, models, everyday people, children, adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I absolutely loved being a part of a wedding at the very start of the pandemic and the reason was because although the couple needed to completely downsize their wedding from 150 people to 12, it was beautiful. I got the bride, sister of the bride, and their mom ready at the family home with such peace and calmness. They were also some of my favorite hairstyles I've ever done.
