Karla Korn Photography
About
I have a photojournalistic approach to weddings and like to document your day as it unfolds. I give minimal direction to achieve great chemistry and ease in photographs. I scout out locations before my couples are photographed to make sure the setting is ideal so all the concentration is focused on getting those candid moments - with the added bonus of beautiful light.
I am invited to such a personal day in couple's lives. All the emotions comes to the surface and I get to document the sweetest moments. You can't beat it!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I get to know each couple and their style to make sure our personalities match up and my vision is compatible with theirs. I usually have a few questions to sort of pick their brain on their creative direction. I also do my best to meet each couple in person before anything is set in stone. Even if that means FaceTime if they are out of town.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was educated at Antonelli Institute of Photography and Design where I have a degree in 'Specialized Technology' - a.k.a. Photography. I learned everything from darkroom to large format cameras to photojournalism and fashion.
How did you get started in this business?
I originally didn't want to photograph weddings or own my own business. I wanted to work as a photojournalist - in the middle of raw emotions. But I kept of being offered to do weddings and kept on turning them down. One day I gave in and accepted one, and then another, and another. I fell in love. It was exactly like being a photojournalist on the most beautiful day of someone's life. My business sort of tumbleweeded into what it is today. I kept on getting referrals and eventually worked out a business structure that worked for me and how I approach weddings.
