Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Typically GLeNN is contacted by a booking agent, event planner or client requesting service for a particular date. We set up a meeting date and time.
2) A meeting is conducted over the phone to discuss and finalize all details involved in the event and payment arrangements. Clients agree to provide adequate conditions required for services to be rendered ie power, proper staging / set-up space, coverage from weather exposure and extreme conditions and a safe working environment.
3) GLeNN arrives within an 1½ - 1 hour prior to the start of the event for set up and soundcheck.
4) The event is performed in accordance with the agreement made between the client and GLeNN BLaKK. Should overtime be requested, this will be discussed and agreed upon no later than 15 minutes prior to the originally agreed upon ending of the event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 25 years of real world experience performing at events of all types including but not limited to, Weddings, Corporate Events, Parties, Concerts, Bars/Restaurants, Family Celebrations, Night Clubs, Festivals, Birthdays, Radio, Television, ect.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies however standard events run typically $150 - $200 per hour depending on services and equipment requested.
How did you get started in this business?
I started DJing at 12 years old hosting house parties and creating and selling mixtapes throughout middle and high school. After graduation I expanded to radio, television and live events.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All kinds from NPO's to large corporations and concert/tour promoters. My most frequent clients are families and small business.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Match the personality and professionalism of the entertainer you wish to hire with the expertise and experience you desire. DJ's are more than just their resumes. Make sure you're hiring the person that is a match for you. Having the right fit will always add to the success of your event.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know your budget and have an idea of what your vision is. Have a clear vision of what you're looking for but if you don't, make sure you express early that you're looking for ideas based on your chosen professional's expertise.
