About
I am a client focused photographer, started about 6 years ago taking my passion into a profitable business. My specialty is family and pet photography, however I have much experience with branding headshots and events as well.
My background is in graphic design and user experience design and development. Photo manipulation is a skill that most photographers do not accomplish, but that is one thing I get many referrals for. Please view my work at any of the following links:

Capturing special moments that my clients can cherish for a very long time. I also enjoy meeting and getting to know new people, we are all living this life together, now I can say "you are a friend".
Editing the photos after a shoot is so much fun too. I get to see shots that I didnt even remember capturing (candid in between poses are always my favorites), and then when I get to deliver the client's gallery, its so exciting!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most of my clients are referrals, but even if not, I love having a sit down meet n greet with a potential client. I learn about them, their likes & dislikes, as well as getting an idea for what they envision for their special photo session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Photography was part of my Graphic Design degree. I have taken many courses that relate to newborn and studio photography, as well as newborn posing safety training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Investments depend on a few factors, but the majority start around $195 for a 2 hour session.
How did you get started in this business?
I've always had a passion for photography, since I was a teenager. Art and design were strong influences in my life, so taking photography to a creative level comes naturally to me.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of customers, from itty bitty newborns, up to corporate professionals. A few restored mustangs and private aircraft have made its way in front of my lenses too.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, Ellaur Photography hosted an event for mommas-to-be. We did free mini photo sessions and educated the ladies on newborn photo sessions and how we work with the families during a session. It was such a fun event and we made many new relationships that day.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Know what it is you are looking for in a photographer. Each photographer has different styles for editing, find one that fits your style as well. If you are unsure of what you want, reach out and ask, a professional can help create a vision for your session.
Also, make sure they are credible and honest with their work.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is there a location already in mind that you desire? How many people in the session or what is the main focus of the session?
What type of investment am I comfortable with? This is huge because it will help narrow down your type of shoot and photographer in general.
