About
Each session I shoot is personalized and customized to what my client needs. On headshot sessions I can shoot indoors, outdoors or on a portable studio background. Prior to each session, I have a conversation with my client regarding clothing, locations and backgrounds. I also find out if my client has any facial feature or body part they are particularly sensitive about when they see photographs of themselves. Having detailed info before the session helps me plan and insures my client is 100% pleased with the results. All of my work is unconditionally guaranteed by me.
I enjoy working with people. My shooting stly is very laid back but professional. I want to make sure my clients are relaxed and actually enjoying being photographed. I always get great results when my clients are enjoying themselves on the shoot.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I will email or talk with the client well in advance of the session to discuss details of outdoor and indoor locations, use of studio backgrounds, wradrobe, hair, etc. I also find out if my client has any facial feature or body part he/she is particularly sensitive about, so that I can minimize those areas during the shoot with corrective lighting, posing and clothing. On the day of the session, I know exactly what my client wants. This makes for very efficient use of time on the day of the session and evryone is more relaxed. I always want my clients to have a positive experience and actually have fun on the shoot!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography at The University of Georgia in 1991. After graduation, I moved back to Atlanta and assisted some of the top photographers in town for 3 years. In 1994, I opened Patterson Photography, Inc. and it has been my full-time occupation ever since.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For headshots, I have a flat rate of $150 and that includes 1 fully-retouched image of the client's choice. If any additional images are chosen, those are billed at $100 each and are also fully retouched. All of my work is guaranteed personally by me.
