I have lots of experience planning and leading worship services and am “ordained” in the (Internet) Universal Life Church in order to preside at weddings in Illinois. I love officiating at weddings and have done so at several Christian and non-denominational weddings in Illinois and New Mexico. Trained as a spiritual director I'm sensitive to potential conflicts that arise during planning, and I am comfortable working with couples toward achieving a shared vision. My own background is in progressive Christianity, but I am comfortable exploring working with couples within and outside those boundaries.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do not plan or facilitate venue selections or receptions! I do plan and act as officiant for wedding ceremonies, rituals, and vows. We start with a phone call, then work on Zoom or Google Meet and/or in person until the big day. I'll share resources as email attachments or by US mail in advance of discussions, and I'll also share drafts of whatever words we agree on and plans we develop for the ritual in the same way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors in Behavioral Sciences and a Masters in Adult & Continuing Education for National Louis University; former local pastor for 2 years in a small United Methodist church; certificate from the Institute of Spiritual Companionship and have a client practice; experienced at planning and officiating at weddings. I’m currently employed by the Church of the Brethren as manager of the Global Mission Office. I’m a United Methodist church member and have deep experience in planning and leading worship. .

- Simple: 3 emails & 3 Google meetings plus ceremony - $150
- Complicated: Simple + 2 more emails & 2 more Google meetings plus ceremony plus rehearsal - $500-700 - higher cost is related to complexity plus distance to/from the venue x # of trips.
How did you get started in this business?
My goddaughter wanted to be married in a particular United Methodist Church but wasn't comfortable with the male minister. I knew him and asked if I could officiate at her wedding in his building, and he agreed. That first experience went well, and I was launched.
