Thorough consultation to gather as much info about guest previous hair regimens ie...previous color, relaxer, permanent , keratin or chemical-free(virgin) or natural so that I may provide reasonable expectations to each guests and deliver a superb service based off guests needs and desires. 

I have 20 years of /Hairstyling experience. I am an Aveda Institute Washington DC CosmetologySchool Alumni. Many years of salon apprenticeships in Baltimore, Maryland and District of Columbia. Advanced Training from Graham Webb Academy I’m men’s cutting, creative and advanced cutting, L’Oréal Color technology, Aveda, Redken, Wella, Balayage, Corrective Coloring and Blow Dry Styling . 

My pricing is a starting base pricing which is determined upon consultation. Ie. Color Corrections are specialized color services which most often require more time and processes which in turn require more product and or sessions(applications) therefore based pricing would not be fitting. Color corrections are to enhance or diminish unwanted tones in the hair that may have been due to at home color jobs(outside of salon )and done by non licensed stylist or undesired tones and shades due to nonprofessional color lines and or lack of knowledge in color theory and application. It is my goal to give the desired results based off thorough consultation prior to any service being rendered. 

As a kid I often would ask how styles were created by cousins, stylists or people who’s hairstyles and cuts appealed to me. I would often sneak and experience wit with dolls and cutting my little cousins hair of course without permission and dealt with the consequences later. It’s that tenacity, curiosity and spark that later led to me being interested in shapes (haircutting) which became my first love. I have a love for polished haircuts that are individualized and customizable for each guests as well as polished, color that enhances beautiful shapes. 

My customer base has been one of diversity and various backgrounds. I have worked in upscale as well as family oriented salons where the staff as well as clientele have been from various backgrounds and ethnicities. I have worked with all textures of hair and hair is simply a fabric like silk or wool hat just needs care and can be molded into the perfect shape and style. I gain a sense of purpose being able to create for each guest and creating memorable experiences. 

My most recent fond memory is working with children to create looks for a Cinderella production at an elementary school in Hyattsville , MAryoavd. This was my first time helping creating looks for a stage presentation and it was exciting and rewarding to bring life to the characters and see the students reactions after doing hair, make up and costumes. It helped challenge me and get me out of robot mode and back into my creative space , it simply helped me venture into new territory and consider new career moves 

I advise all giests(clients) to be perfectly honest and open with the stylist from the beginning. Professional Stylist are there to provide professional salon services that will address your concerns,  wants , and needs like the doctor. We can only address that which we discover upon gathering info(consult) and advise (educate) and provide (services rendered) to deliver total satisfaction, but not just create beautiful styles, but protect and build the hair from the inside out.

Haircare is ongoing and the challenges or issues will not miraculously disappear if you don’t put in the work or time to help the stylist and yourself maintain your beautiful tresses. Stylist/ guests relationships should be open, honest and reasonable expectations.
