Q & A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We meet with all our clients in a pre-consult meeting prior to the portrait time.  This is where we will cast a vision for what we will create, try on wardrobe and answer questions to ease any nerves going into the shoot.  Next is shoot.  Approximately 2 weeks later we will meet to review the completed gallery and make selections for purchase. All product is professionally produced.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am trained via professional organizations I belong to and mentor sessions with world renowned portrait creators I have hired.  I train several hours every week for over the last 10 years to offer the latest cutting edge lighting options to my clients.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Session fees vary but are all listed on my website.  We require a minimum purchase order of 500 in product from all sessions. Price samples are on my website and a full price list is available at the pre consult meeting.

How did you get started in this business?

A local physician wanted to hang maternity portraits I created as a hobbyist in his offices.  He told me to put my business cards out and when I told him I didn't have a business he said "why not?  You should!"  That was the start over 6 years ago!

What types of customers have you worked with?

Clients who value excellence from a-z of their entire portrait process.  Primarily hard working professional families who want something special and to work with someone personable who will not waste their time.  I have also created for several Baltimore Ravens families.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Senior model video shoot --chance to gather all our JDP senior models and create together as a capstone to their time in the model program and just prior to their graduation.

What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?

I'd encourage them to talk with other verified recent clients to be sure of the client care they will receive and be sure the vendor is a liscenced business with insurance.

What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?

Do you have updated feedback on your site? Do you have insurance?  Can I speak to recent clients?
