About

I’m at the point in my photography career where I can walk into a wedding or portrait session with a client and nail all the important shots without thinking too much about it. I have some standard angles and poses for people that work just about every time no matter what type of light I’m dealing with. But in order to keep things interesting for me and to keep clients from feeling like they are being put through a standard photography formula, I like to get at least one shot that I’ve never done before and pushes me to think a little harder.

To me, a creative portrait must have some deeper meaning behind it. Usually, it’s personal to the subject, ironic to the viewer, or identifies something about the subject that you may not have otherwise have known.

See, I have always been someone that was thrilled and absolutely passionate about photography and creating beautiful images and videos from a young age. As I created a career and started a business of my own that works to help business owners, creatives, entrepreneurs, and online coaches to build their online presence and grow their brand through various tactics and strategies, I realized how much more I could help them if I helped them to create custom images and branded portraits that would make their online presence so much more authentic and part of their personal journey's and that would help them craft their personal brand/company's brand through use of images and videos in their efforts. This is a much more authentic and genuine way to build momentum among the intended or targeted audience. So more often than not, what becomes overlooked when created a brand (unlike the first thing people think of life logos, fonts, blah blah blah) is the VOICE and FACES behind the brand, which is where design work becomes more intangible and hard to express from design work. The voice of your brand encompasses your overall being and personality. In a very literal sense, it's the tone of voice that people would hear in your voicemail greeting - or your personal style of writing in blogs or books - it's the look of your booths when you present things at a local country fair or trade booth or flea market and ultimately the overall feelings that someone gets as they scroll through your IG feed. It expresses your core values and beliefs as a person - is your brand inviting? Is it cohesive and truly authentic? That's where custom stock photos and well-thought-out and creatively shot portraits of you and your brand come into play and where I enjoy centering the focus for what makes my photography brand so different. The offer only made sense as we offered social media branding and marketing services and management services that we would help create not only digital content but also the images FOR the content as well.

I enjoy being able to help people make their ideas come to life and I've always been passionate about creating things - content, art, photographs, video content, and even from a young age the joy I'd find in helping my mom take film photography into our red room in the basement and developing the photos we liked most from the roll ourselves - soaking the photos from a pinhole camera even in the chemical baths and then hanging them to dry in the red light and creating something beautiful like that was so fun... creating music, and performing.. painting and drawing... Creativity has been my greatest joy in life and has allowed me to defeat depression and combat anxiety over the years by offering an outlet of expression and joy to me as time goes on.

    Frequently asked questions

Inquiry >> Scheduling An Initial Time To Discuss Project Needs and Get To Know Each Other A Bit More To Get An Idea Of How Well We Would Work With One Another (Called The Discovery Call) >> After that call, I create either a creative brief  and a mood/vision board for a general roadmap for working with the new customer/client on how we would go about making their ideas and dreams for an end project become reality together :) [or a proposal for more business branding centric projects and sessions and send it over for the new customer/client] >> After reviewing that, the new client/customer will confirm with me if they would like to move forward by signing that creative brief >> I would then craft a contract/work agreement to mutually protect both my business and the customer/client as well that they would then sign and return (for me to finalize by signing) >> I'd try to set up the official date for our photography session with the new customer/client and then create a timeline and begin the planning process for every aspect of the shoot on my end and schedule a meeting to discuss styling options with the newly onboarded client/customer :)

I have taken classes for photography over the years to stay current and up to date on all current and new trends for taking photos/portraits and videography as well.

I was a photography class instructor during the summer at a local sleepaway summer camp (as part of their daily activities they would work in and on each day)

    Google Video Advertising Certified

Digital Diploma in Digital Photography from Alison courses

I have various rates for various types of photography and within those categories, I offer a variety of pre-built packages for product photography, portrait photography, event (weddings, sporting events, conventions, keynotes.. etc..) with various inclusions and offerings in each of those packaged solutions and also offer hourly, daily, and session rates as well. Part of the initial onboarding process is the discovery call where I learn exactly what each client/customer needs or is looking for.

I decided to merge not only my passion for photography and videography with my personal journey as a business owner and entrepreneur by utilizing my own personal brand to grow my business and offer four times the value I offered both my photography clients and business owner and marketing clients by offering a full-scale range of services to help them grow their brand, business, impact, and creative expressions online.

Brides to be and couples either looking to create an album of memories or capture their big day in a creative light!

Sports teams, karate instructors, choirs and bands, etc...

I got to collaborate with another local photographer who was a fellow member of the Rising Tide Society here in the local Jackson chapter to highlight BOTH of our brands by teaming up to capture portraits of each other taking turns as the photographer and model and we had an absolute blast by picking a gorgeous day with pretty weather, a single location, tons of fun props like balloons with confetti, colored smoke bombs, and got to share with each other so many tips, tricks, ideas, and really got to showcase each other's brands from brand new perspectives by both of us bringing our individual skill sets and creativity to the session and really enjoyed the entire experience with one another!

Have a list of things that are most important to you about crafting your portraits in mind when searching for professional photography and don't be shy to share your own creative ideas with your photographer of choice either! It's the most important part of making your ideas become reality - knowing what you want!

For business branding or personal branding sessions, try creating a list of things you NEED images for when trying to plan out the style of each and every shot we will capture together. Do an audit of your feed and think of things you'll be posting about in the near future to give yourself an idea of the types or styled poses you need to plan for - are you are wanting images for your website think about the message you're intending to be telling with your visuals and how you might best relate or express your brand in a way that resonates with YOUR ideal buyers or with your target audience - whatever the purpose or intention behind your specific brand may be!
