I'm David Uczen and I have been a photographer in one form or another for almost 30 years. I have always had an artistic side and a passion to capture people at their best and finally made a business of it in 2014.
A student of world-renowned headshot photographer/"Master Jedi" Peter Hurley, I have the knowledge and experience to help you acheive that one-of-a-kind headshot that gets you noticed and gets you work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While mostly self-taught over a period of nearly 30 years, I did recieve some training at the Kansas City Art Institute and I am a member of Peter Hurley's Headshot Crew.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is pretty simple, you are buying my passion, time and talent to get you that one-of-a-kind headshot that sets you above the rest. Roughly speaking it's about $100 per hour, which includes one or more retouched images. Additional retouched images are available. I charge a minimum of 4 hours for on-location sessions.
For portraits, both professional and high school senior, I use the same system except there is no 4 hour on-loction minimum for high school seniors. Portrait products (canvases, acryllics, metals, prints, etc.) can be ordered a la carte or in collections.
How did you get started in this business?
Since an early age I have always been an avid photographer, snapping pictures of everything I could. Over the years I developed an eye for photography and I wanted to share that with the Charlotte area. In 2013 I decided to invest in professional equipment and began doing high school senior portraits and school photography.
Around this time I discovered world-renowned headshot photographer Peter Hurley and his training and referral program Headshot Crew. In 2014 I opened David Uczen Photography, Inc., with the primary focus on professional headshots and portraits.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have primarily worked with actors and models as well as business professionals. Anyone that has a social media presence needs a strong personal brand and a great headshot is a huge part of that.
I also work with people from all walks of life on special projects throughout the year including high school senior portraits, dance portraits, and commercial photography.
