Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process works in several ways - either we guide you through your event, giving you all the details you need to make the right decisions for your event and helping you pull it all together so it works seamlessly. Alternatively, you can just give us some insight into what you like and we take it from there - making this the easiest part of your event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Stylus features exclusively resident DJs - that's the highest level of DJ since it means we're the requested DJs at all the biggest party spots in the Triangle. If you're looking for a party that makes an impression - then you're in the right place.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies depending on your needs. A 50 person event will be different than a 500 person event. Contact us for a free quote based on your specifics rather than a one-size-fits-all mistake.
How did you get started in this business?
Started DJing when I was 16 and was lucky enough to be able to do this professionally. Most DJs are single genre DJs, but we've mastered all the styles so we get to work with a wide group of amazing people for every type of event.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with Fortune 500 companies with massive budgets and exacting standards, and we work with couples planning their first wedding and trying to make the biggest impact they can without mortgaging dad's house. We work with bars/clubs, hotels, restaurants, and birthday parties down the street. Stylus is your best choice for an event that stands out.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The event we did two days ago was a massive undertaking that involved most of our team working to provide sound, lighting, and entertainment on four floors of the Nature Research Center in downtown Raleigh. The event was months in the making, with multiple site visits, finely detailed event dynamics, and a diverse crowd that spanned age ranges, backgrounds, and histories. We incorporated dynamic video that tied into their Parisian themes and projected it on the interior of the globe as well as showcasing the names, logos, and images that tied into their specific awards, announcements, and recognitions.
However, the thing that made it really special was that the woman I was working with on this event was undergoing chemotherapy and had her last treament right before the event. We'd spent months talking at all hours of the day and evening getting the details correct and I had followed her progress and struggles the whole way through. The night of the event was as emotional for me as you could imagine, and she was so happy. I got a text from her that night thanking us for everything and her ginuine joy and exhilaration was truly the thing I valued the most.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
You don't have to settle. Do your research. This is literally the one choice that will define how everyone views your event. How do you want your event to be remembered?
