The Cliff is a neighborhood restaurant in Jersey City Heights serving killer coffee alongside wholesome and delicious foods. A secluded backyard and sidewalk tables offer the best outdoor seating in the Heights.
At The Cliff our focus is whole, organic and unprocessed foods. We prepare foods that promote healthy living, with respect for others and the environment. The menu is designed to accommodate both those who want to grab healthy options on the go as well as those looking for a comfortable place to gather and enjoy.
The cuisine is eclectic American with Icelandic and European influences. The restaurant is predominantly vegetarian and vegan but we do also offer the freshest, most Eco sustainable fish in the world, sourced directly from Iceland.
Our coffee is superior in taste. Working with a local master roaster we have perfected a well balanced yet robust blend for both our house coffee as well as our silky cold brew.
Our catering services are second to none. Offering both drop off and full service catering, our menus are fully customizable. Be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or hors d'oeuvres we cater to private residences as well as corporate accounts and everything in between.
Our community is our backbone. We live in, work and raise our children in this neighborhood. We support local artists and organizations that share our values by getting involved.
Our work is extremely rewarding. Aside from the obvious of getting to create beautiful and delicious foods and drinks, we get to meet new people every day and take part in creating experiences for them.
About the owners:
Eva Johannesdottir is born and raised in Iceland. She has worked in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years starting as a young girl in Iceland’s famed Lobster House. Once in the US Eva began working in restaurants throughout New York City and the Hamptons. Her experience includes both front and back of house positions ranging from prep cook to bartender to manager at some of the area’s best hotels, restaurants and bars including The Soho Grand Hotel, The Grand Banks, The National Restaurant & Bar, Ruschmeyer’s, The Crow’s Nest and Bobo to name a few.
Gary Keating is born and raised in New Jersey. He is an integral part of the business as a consultant lending many years of experience working in the restaurant industry. Gary’s experience stretches as far back as 1995 working for famed New York establishments such as The Lemon, Luna Park and The Waverly Inn.
