What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My availability, your budget, menu, services, and contract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been cooking since the age of 6, watching/cooking with both grandmothers, and my mother. I grow up in the family business (food truck), we've always been responsible for the big events at church, family gatherings, weddings, my mother, uncle and aunt, even catered parties for City of Detroit, Mayor Coleman Young, in the early 80's. I have taken the torch and have kept it lit.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I always ask my customers their budget and limit of spending, then I make up a menu according to that, if there's a specific menu, I go above and beyond to create your menu, while still providing the best possible rate for my services.
How did you get started in this business?
Loving to cook at an early age, by watching my mother (who was the supervisor and head cook for Head Start in the '70s), my maternal grandmother had a food truck in the early '80s, and my fraternal grandmother also loved to cooked, I watched all 3 of these women growing up, by the age of 9, I was cooking full meals.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they're willing to comply with your budget, wants, and needs; they're sociable, friendly, and able to work well with others.
