Stumptown DJs

Prior to your event, you get:

1. Free initial phone or in-person consultation. We go over location details, timeframes, venue setup options, etc. (If you would like to meet any of our DJs prior to booking, this can always be arranged.)
2. Free access to our online music database to create your own playlists for background music, dancing, etc.

On the day of your event, we provide:

1. An organized and professional DJ.
2. A quality sound system, mixing board and laptop.
3. Two handheld microphones (one wired, one wireless). 
4. A high-quality, multicolored and sound-activated disco light.
5. Free setup and teardown.
6. All DJs are capable of MCing at no additional charge.
7. All of our DJs have thousands of songs on hand, so we can play just about anything. If WiFi is available, we can download songs, on the spot, for special requests.

After your event, you can expect:

1. A follow-up email, text, and/or phone call.
2. A final email with links for you to post reviews on various sites (e.g., Yelp, Facebook, & Google).

Add-ons and Additional costs:

• Additional set-up location $200
• Travel ($.75 per mile – applies to events outside of Portland metro area )
• Advanced sound system for 300+ guests ($500)
• Additional wireless microphone ($60 per mic)
• Advanced dance lighting package ($300)
• Screen & video projector rental ($200)
• Silent Disco Headphone rental ($250 per 50 headsets)

We have DJing events since 2008. A lot our training has been through our experience over the years. However, the owner of Stumptown DJs has an MBA from the University of Oregon and Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University.

Corporate Events & Parties – $175 – $200/hr

Bar/Bat Mitzvahs – $225 –  $300/hr

Weddings – $200 –  $300/hr

I started the business in 2008 when the US economy had crashed. By 2012 I had finished my MBA and Stumptown DJ's business plan was in full force. The rest is history.

We service mostly weddings and as company we believe in and welcome marriage equality for all. We also do a fair amount corporate events,  holiday parties, birthday parties, proms, and bar/bat mitzvahs. We are also up to DJing rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, christenings, debutante balls, engagement parties, graduations, memorials, quinceañeras, sweet 16 parties and more.

First off, make sure they’ve actually DJ’d the type of event you are wanting to hire them for. Many events require a large amount of MCing and if the DJ hasn’t done that before, it could really make or break your event.  It’s also pretty important that your personalities match up and you are very clear with what you want at your event. Dance party? or just back ground music. Finally, make sure your DJ is familiar with the type of music you want to hear.
