How did you get started in this business?
Worked as makeup artist for glamour portrait studio while sitll in college. Thought I could do a better job than the current photographers and turned out I was right! I ended with 20 locations across the U.S.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We only offer business headshots -- so anyone who owns a business or works for a company and needs a profile headshot.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Created a mobile photo studiio (like a food truck, but a photo studio) and was able to partner with other photographers across the country to build more trucks. We now serve L.A., NYC and ATL.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
So long as you choose a professional photographer working full time in the field, you should be fine. If you wouldn't hire a doctor who practices medicine "on the side" then don't hire a photographer who does the same. Also, choose someone who specializes in the area you are looking for. Don't hire a headshot photographer to shoot your wedding and vice versa.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Most pros have everything you need on their websites. Just look at the quality of their work then match that up with their online reviews and see who you vibe with.
