Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to reach out over the phone and get to know them personally so I can truly understand their wants and needs. Then I'll give them an overview of what I provide, pricing and what they can expect with a session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken many classes and workshops to hone and perfect my skills. I even teach others what I do. I've been a graphic designer for 17 years and so I have a good eye for design, color and overall artistic composition for photography. But as a mom, I also understand what it takes to be a newborn photographer. It takes a delicate touch, unyielding patience and a uncompromising knowledge of safety for working with newborns.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a session fee for all of my sessions, with the exception of weddings, and then offer collections that provides artwork and digitals. Average client spends $1800$-$2000.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you work with someone who is extremely knowledgeable in newborns and has insurance. Your baby should be taken care as if they are their own, but you can never be too careful. There are so many "photographers" out there who think that it's easy to work with newborns, but it's takes a special skill and lots of education, and safety is a number one priority. If they're not insured, they're not a professional. Don't put your baby in the care of someone not covered. The same goes for weddings! A wedding is a one day event, never to be repeated, so go with someone who is covered, explains all the details, has a backup photographer and is insured!
