What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I allot 15 to minutes for a consultation. I need to know hair history, current products used, medications that could affect any chemical process, and pictures are always welcome for reference.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Current in sanitation requirements. Brazilian blow out certified, hot heads tape ins hair extensions certified.
I go to several classes throughout the year to keep myself updated on trends and techniques.
I also do makeup for special events.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No standard pricing other than haircuts.
Everything chemical, varies based on hair thickness and length.
How did you get started in this business?
A friend asked me to do makeup for her wedding. I started to learn technique and tricks for application. I discovered just how much I loved the industry and decided to go to school to become a licensed cosmetologist. I still love doing wedding hair and makeup but have extended my skill set and have learned so much more!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure there is clear communication between you and your stylist, so that your stylist can achieve your desired results.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What do you do at home? What shampoo, styling products or other things like oils do you put in your hair?
How long was the last time you got a chemical or color service. Always be honest with your stylist during a consultation!
