Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, I like to try and get to know the client. We do an over the phone/in person consultation prior to the shoot so I can get an idea of the client's personality, ideas and comfort level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have a standard pricing system. $150 / hr or you can select portrait packages ranging from $200 - $450. You can check definitiveartsphotography.com/pricing for aditional information.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started when I was about 10-11 years old and my mother bought me a 110 film camera. I haven't stop shooting since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with clients from all walks of life. I've worked with military moms, celebraties, political activists, high school students and my favorites; toddlers and babies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was doing commercial portraits for a private elementary school and the event organizor was really worried because the kids wasn't focused on taking pictures, they were becoming restless and just wanted to play and be free. I was booked for just the one day and she knew that she had one opportunity to capture some good images to provide for the parents. She was pleasantly surprised how I improvised and provided some great candids of the kids being themselves and the parents loved the images.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you find a common bond with the photographer because if you don't, it will come through in the images. If you are not comfortable with the person behind the camera, you won't be comfortable in front.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you have a price list?
Have you ever shot this type of event/portrait, etc before?
