Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to speak to the customer to find out what their needs are. It’s much better to be able to create a rapport and provide the most professional service and when I know exactly what the customer wants, I know how to provide it!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have been working in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and also have a theater degree from SDSU.
How did you get started in this business?
My journey began when I was directing plays – this lead into emceeing many events which ultimately had clients clamoring for me to provide more services. Over the years I have added Photo booths, up lights, custom logos and so much more! It’s been fun to work with other DJs and learn from so many people over the last 20 years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many local businesses, corporations, local schools and of course multiple bridal registries and wedding planners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Each and every event is memorable. Most recently I deejayed a third wedding for one particular family – they have one daughter to go :-)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It’s really important to make sure you feel comfortable with your DJ. The music is what makes every party thrive! Choose a professional with great equipment and insurance that offers a written contract. In this business you get what you pay for.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How many people will be in your event? How long will the party last? Is there a theme or color scheme that you will be following? Would you like to add a photo booth or extra DJ set up or a silent disco or black lights or a custom logo or… Anything creative that might make the party rock?
