Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to consult in person or by phone to find out the type of event they are having, I take notes and answer their questions. Texting is OK as well but I prefer the personal touch of speaking to someone to get an idea of who I’m dealing with as much as possible because a big part of the science/art of deejaying is learning who your clientele is at each particular event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training is virtually all OJT (on the job training),I have performed at over 50 weddings and 50 Birthday parties as well as club gigs park events games reunions grand openings concerts and event halls I have performed at close to 300 events in my career. I have worked with vinyl records cd's and mp3 files and I still have all 3 formats of equipment up and running in case you need a retro style event. I constantly study videos blogs and articles from accomplished DJ pros to refine my craft and implement ideas that have worked for my colleagues.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It is really based on the type of event and time so as you give me details I can accurately quote you.
How did you get started in this business?
I loved music from a young age so when I had some money saved up at 16 from my summer jobs, I purchased 2 turntables, 2 speakers and an amp and joined a DJ crew with my friends from school, they had the microphones and some more speakers and turntables ... I soon began deejaying house parties and school parties, and I was my unofficial family dj (still).
What types of customers have you worked with?
Corporations, Event Venues, Clubs, Restaurants, Leagues, Brides, Planners, Families, Non-profits
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Wade and Courtney's 10th anniversary party was sensational (See the pictures on my FB page Easy Cee Entertainment). It was a 6 hour long blowout bash and I played lots of current r&b and classic hip hop to keep them rocking. It was a huge success of course so were all the other anniversary parties I deejayed for them as was their wedding reception.
I believe in repeat clients and I have many of them, but Courtney and Wade are special!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are up to date on the music, the equipment, and the people they are providing service for. I am going to ask you lots of questions in trying to build the appropriate music for your playlist.
