Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I talk to them about their business and photography needs, final use of the work and budget. Then we get to specifics of the current job. If need be I may want to scout the location to determine what equipment I'd need and come up with an estimate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
More than 30 years as an independent photographer. Shooting for corporations, non- profits, magazines and individuals in a variety of Subject matter and shooting conditions.
Shooting on location is a balance between problem solving and creativity. The goal being delivering final photos that show you or your business to its best advantage.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Corporations, Non-Profits, Magazines, architects , Interior Designers and individuals.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look at their work. See if they have experience shooting the kinds of subjects you have.
Do you like what you see? Is it technically proficient? Is there a "Wow" factor, does it connect with you vicerally ?
And then talk to them to see if you can get along with them. If you might enjoy the time you have to spend with them. If the photographer is able to get you and understand what you need and deliver.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Try to give enough detail about the job as possible, scope, location, number of people or subjects to be shot.
Also how you will be using the work- Online, Publication, print ads, prints for your wall, etc. all this has bearing on the ease or difficulty of the job, what equipment or personnel needed and time.
The better you describe what you need and these factors, the more accurate a quote I can give you.
