Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally a phone call or e mail corespondance to get things going, then scheduling a one-on-one meeting to fill-in-the-blanks with music content, time line and the like.
We can also Zoom as an alternate.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Any extra's would be a request for general dance floor lighting and/or popular uplighting, I provide both.
If this event is a Wedding, I am often asked to play the Ceremony Music which usually involves additional sound equipment which I also can offer.
How did you get started in this business?
I was a popular club DJ, and (still) a Radio Personality frequently asked to DJ events outside of the club. One event lead to another, and I enjoy playing to a live audience.
What types of customers have you worked with?
From large and small corporations like Apple Computers in San Jose California to The Cincnnati Reds. From small private family gatherings in a park to Wedding Receptions of 200 people or more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
For many years I've given my services to "Women Helping Women." An annual event that raises funds for women in need. It's always a fun crowd to play to and each year it's never the same audience which makes for a fun time.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure the DJ you're talking to is the SAME person who is going to play your event. Try to have at least one meeting in advance before the event and don't sell yourself short with too small of a budget for Disc Jockey Entertainment. It's more affordable than a live band without any breaks and often is a fun choice.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How many hours is this event?
How much adequate space is required?
How long will it take for the vendor to set up and break down.
