Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like working directly with the host/bride/groom to iron out all the details early and create a memorable event. Typically we send the qoute or view the request. I send over menus with various questions about the event, we discuss price points as we offer several styles to fit any budget. We offer full service, drop off, servers, bartenders and eerything in between.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been catering over 7 years, I paired with Mercato and the rest is history. We have always received a 5 star review from clients. We value input and strive to make every event perfect.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We include all pricing up front from taxes, gratuity, service, rental fee, etc.. so ther are never hidden fees. The price qouted will always depend upon the services required, but we are proud to offer anywhere from basic ingredients to premium, drop off to full service or a little mix of both.
How did you get started in this business?
I started doing this on the side as a fun way to make extra money seven years ago. Once I got involved I realized how wonderful it is to be part of special events and to really help make someones event special. It is a very rewarding job.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with several clients for various events. Corporate, special occassions, celebrations, funerals, etc. We have no preferance in what the event is, we just strive to make it as perfect as we possibly can.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently hosted a bachelor breakfast. I took over some breakfast items and then hosted as a "barista", they were from all over the country and it was fun getting to talk to each customer and create a unique one on one experience with several people in one sitting.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would say make sure they are asking lots of questions. If someone is only discussing money or payment with you, they are most likely going to miss some important details that should be getting discussed early on. Also make sure everyone is transparent with you abotu all costs so you are not met with unexpected fees at the time of payment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is so situational with catering but a good place to start is where the venue is and what set up you are looking for. Make sure the pro has the equipment needed if there is not a kitchen available to accomodate you.
