How did you get started in this business?
Hair has always been a passion of mine as far back as childhood when I would imagine the mop that I played with as hair lol. I would play with my dolls and have always been facinated with hair and fashion. I worked in the corporate world for quite some time doing customer service for credit card centers, temp work for IBM, payroll and BF SAUL mortgage company, nasdaq and a host of others.
Nothing felt like home until I went back to school again or Cosmotology. From there, i worked at salons as a shampoo assistant which led me to building my clientele and not owning my own studio.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Government officials, Teens, clients with balding issues, clients that wanted our microblading permanant makeup services and a variety of clients from all walks of life and ethnicities which is why I love my profession.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always make sure that you are specific about the previous work done to your hair if you want awesome results. If you're not honest with a pro, your hair experience could be a disaster.
Something as small as not informing us of previous hair color or henna or any chemical could make the difference in your new highlights or color from a pro.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
will the style look good on me if my hair is not as thick or as thin as the desired look?
will my hair texture work with the hair extensions that are wanted?
Is my skin tone a good fit for the tone of color desired?
Is the price worth the professional and their work and the products used?
