Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we've establish what our customer's needs are, we work to give them exactly that. Customers usually call, text or email me with their requests for information and I send them whatever they want, along with some free samples so they don't have to take my word for it.
Next, we discuss what kind of event they will be having and whether or not they would like servers, bartenders or whatever else they might need.
We round it up with any special instructions or dietary needs they might have, and then we make sure to carry out the event exactly as requested.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the food business since I was 14 years old. Then I married a pizza man, straight from Italy, and we opened our restaurant 35 years ago. We gained most of our knowledge on the job, but about 10 years ago, I ran into my 3rd grade teacher who relit my desire for learning. I went back to college and got my degree in Hospitality, where I graduated with Honors and received the award for the highest GPA in my major. I continue to take courses and go to Trade Shows to further my education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have a Catering Brochure with basic information for anyone who is interested. I will ALWAYS customize a party for customers so that they only pay for what they want and nothing is written in stone around here. We want our customers to be happywith their selections.
How did you get started in this business?
My mother had four daughters and she was that lady that came to the house when needed to help set up for a party or cook for a grieving family after a death. I remember being very young when my mother first took my sisters and I to take care of people. I believe we were in the Hospitality Business long before the phrase was ever coined.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have been very fortunate to work with many celebrities over the years. We often do back-stage catering at many concerts and musicals in the area, but nothing has humbled me more than the years that we catered Veteran's Dinners for our heroes on Veteran's Day. I have had the pleasure of meeting World War II vets, and many other vets from years gone by. I cannot tell you how proud we were to serve these men and women, as a way to thank them for their service to our country.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Veteran's Dinners are among my favorites, but we also enjoy catering for our local government, Church events, and again, all the celebrities that we have been fornutate to meet, such as George Carlin, Molly Ringwold, The Temptations, The Duprees, Bobby Ridell, and many others.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask for samples!! Anyone who won't give them to you is not proud of what they serve.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How many people will be coming to the event?
What kind of food do I want?
Do I want servers at my event?
How many hours should I make the event?
Will we serve alcohol, and do we need a bartender? (we have bartenders on staff, if needed)
