DJ Rob Champion
About
DJ Rob Champion has been bringing people together on the dance floor for over 17 years. He got his start in bars and nightclubs in Manhattan, but his love of music goes further back than that. A second-generation DJ, he inherited a deep appreciation for the power of music from both his parents. As a teenager he interned at Essence Magazine, even helping to choose the artists for the magazine's Annual Essence Fest, and also had a stint as an intern for Jive Records. In his twenties he worked for the dearly departed downtown location of Fat Beats, and his current day job is with Turntable Lab—so he remains connected to music and vinyl. He has packed the floor all over the New York Metro area, including the Kings County Distillery, The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club, Wonderville and Ploume. His first love is 90s R&B and hip-hop, but DJ Rob Champion prides himself on his ability to use his encyclopedic catalogue to choose the right song to set the mood for any crowd and any occasion.
