I try to invoke a relaxed setting where you're not overwhelmed or intimidated and are free to share your hair goals and decompress. I offer tea and beverages and have snacks on hand for our extensive services that may take a little longer. It's my effort to help this be fun and like a true treat! I love what I do. Hands down. I get to be creative and help heal people from the outside and in. Hair is magic. I believe if we feel good we look good. My energy is light and I do my best to reflect light during each service. It truly helps inspire good hair! I love helping alleviate someone's troubles with a good shampoo and some gentle encouragement to love oneself a little more! If I can cheer someone's spirit with some light hearted banter or if they want to bare their soul during a little haircut or shampoo massage 💆🏻♀️ that helps me feel like I'm doing something with meaning. I helped someone today. That counts to me.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You can anticipate a thorough consultation via text or scheduled for in person in salon. We will discuss your hair history and your hair goals. I'll assess your hair texture, porosity and maybe even do a strand test depending on which service! We will discuss goals and options to cater to your specific hair type and which best flatters you! We love to collaborate with our client so there are no surprises and thorough consultations are our secret sauce.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a licensed professional with a business license, cosmetology license and independent license. I continue my education constantly! Education is crucial in this industry and it's a personal passion of mine to always be learning and advancing to the next latest thing. I'm a nioxin specialist, Brazilian blowout certified, extension and bbp certified. Sanitation and cleanliness is paramount and I'm constantly upgrading my certifications. Education obsessed. I was mentored by Angie M. Lucas of Sahag NY. World famous John Sahag is known for his masterful works in the Tim Burton film,Edward Scissorhands and has lended his talents in hair sculpting to the mops of of The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Sheryl Crow and other A-list celebrity clients. I am extremely humbled and blessed to have been able to learn this trade under such a guru!

How did you get started in this business?
My mother is a hairstylist! I grew up sweeping and assisting her in her shop and later my oldest sister became a platform stylist under John Sahag doing hair for celebrities and events! I interned under her and she taught me the Sahag dry cutting technique which was pioneered by the late hair legend John Sahag. I feel like this industry chose me! I dabbled in illustration and music and all of the arts. I always came back to hair. Hair is life for me.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check out their portfolio! Go to people you like and go to a stylist that does hair you like! Have the mindset that hair is an experience and a journey. Certain looks in the industry are considered "unicorn hair" meaning, it's so majestic and beautiful and of course everyone wants it but so few are up for the journey to achieve it safely and slowly. Be along for the journey and you will get your unicorn hair! :)
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Issues they've had in the past with their hair experiences. Where they want to go. Where they've been. It's so crucial and even life threatening to your hair to be honest and transparent with your color consultations! Be honest if you used box dye so we can honestly try to save your hair from anymore damage. You'll get better results in the chair with being transparent with your stylist right out of the gate.
