Musician Owned and Operated:
The core mission of Music Dept is to provide a concierge experience when clients hire live musicians for a wedding or special event. Our clients include individuals, wedding planners, corporate event planners, country clubs, and non-profit organizations. Music Dept is based in NYC, NJ, and CT, but we are happy to travel throughout the US.

We have over 3000 unique performers in our database. This deep network of talent allows us to deliver almost anything that our clients can imagine. Along with great musicians and singers, we also provide dancers, circus acts, magicians, and actors.
We also offer a “to the trade” service in which we offer our talent and expertise to other entertainment companies. Many of the largest and most respected entertainment companies trust our musicians with their most important events.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always discuss the fine details of your event over the phone. Its important that we are aligned on fine details ranging from logistics to musical style. Some new clients already know exactly what type of performance they would like to book while others look to Music Dept to provide some inspiring ideas.
After we understand that basic details and logistics we must confirm availability and pricing for our performers. This is followed by a quote and contract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Adam Lomeo, Music Dept founder and lead musician, holds a BA in Jazz Guitar performance. Many of our musicians hold even more advanced degrees, but aside from formal education all of our performers have accumulated years of real-world performing experience that they bring to every event.

How did you get started in this business?
Adam Lomeo is the founder and owner of Music Dept. He is a professional jazz guitarist who has performed in NYC clubs such as the Blue Note and toured in China.
Adam, got his start in event entertainment by creating Rum Runners Jazz-a company specializing in the finest jazz for cocktail hours. In 2016, he merged with Larry Siegel Music and Entertainment-which was known for their great party music as well as specialty and international styles.

We have a very diverse group of customers: Fortune 500 Companies, High-End Wedding Planners, Restaurants, Labor Unions, Performances in Celebrity Homes, Country and Social Clubs.
