What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Questions Questions Questions!!
I'm asking question up until the day of the event. The first questions that are asked are more of a basic questionaire that is given to ALL potential customers. To make sure everyones needs are meet, and everyone is onboard with the same things.
Next, a contract is drawn up basically stating everything that we mutally agreed on (menu, price, location, etc.) ALL contracts must be signed by BOTH parties. Deposit is due at time of contract signing to secure spot. Deposit is typically 50% of total plus taxes.
*Remaining balance is due one week before said event.

How did you get started in this business?
I was an Executive Chef at a golf club that booked a lot of events. I was always doing alot of it but reaping very little benefits, so with all my knowledge i thought i would go into business for myself and here I am.

I've worked with Senators, Resturant Owners, College Kids, Corporate Business.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently was hired to cook a romantic dinner at a client's home. I made a Sesame Honey glaze Salmon, Lobster Tails, Shrimp Scampi, Asparagus, Macaroni & Cheese, & Tiramisu.
They we're EXTREMELY please and are hiring me again for an bigger family event!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be very open and honest about what you want AND expect upfront, it will make your event planning go so much smoother.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Just have your expectations in order.
