What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Although I prefer to meet my couples face to face it is not always possible. I like to chat with them on the phone and discuss their wedding and what kind of ceremony they would like. Once I have enough information, I write a ceremony for them and email it for them to approve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe my theater background helps me feel comfortable in front of people. It also helps me project my voice for those times I have no microphone. Ask my husband and kids. They'll tell you I'm loud. 😉

My pricing is based on time and travel. There are separate fees for rehearsals and add-ons.
How did you get started in this business?
All of this started in January 2018 at 3 am on a sleepless night. I had the idea that I needed to be a part of something bigger than myself. Something to do with happiness. Not for myself, but for others. So I went to the Universal Life Church website and became an ordained minister. About two months later I performed my first wedding and I haven't looked back.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked, and will continue to work, with anyone who wishes to enter in to the happily ever after together. My first wedding ceremony was a young military man and his fiance'. He was being deployed the next day and wanted to make sure that the woman he loved would be taken care of. I've married a couple in a bar at a table with loud patrons around who had no idea what was going on. I've hiked up a hill in Enchanted Rock State Park to marry a couple, fully dressed for the occasion, on a boulder.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was part of a ceremony in Spanish and English at the last minute. They had to have an English speaking minister for the legal part and contacted me. I held the microphone and a light for the Spanish speaking minister until it was time for my part and then continued to hold the mic and light until the ceremony ended. It was one of those moments that was wonderful and definitely bigger than me. I loved it. And there's the ceremony I performed on a paddle boat. It was done at the bow of the boat. Perfect weather. Slight breeze. One of my happiest couples yet.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Talk with them. Ask all the questions you need answered. You have to be comfortable and happy with whomever you choose. It's your big day.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Your main thing should be do they fit? Ask about previous weddings they have performed. Pay attention to sense of humor/seriousness. Ask about pricing/fees. Do they charge extra for travel? Are there any extra or hidden fees? Extra fees for rehearsal?
