Scott Willis Piano
About
Scott is a solo instrumental pianist beyond the limits of workaday musicianship. From simple, clear melodies to complex, rolling waves of textured harmonies, Scott's music will make your event a cut above the rest. From music of the '60s to the most present-day, he will set a mood that makes your occasion memorable and special.
Scott began playing professionally in 1978. His professional experience and background include live performance and studio work. He has recorded albums and projects for major and indie labels, CMTV videos, ABC Sports, Warner Bros Discos (Latino), television personalities, political campaigns, TV commercials, jingles, and performed for large venues. He has a background in Rock, Pop, Country, New Age, Ambient, Worship, Gospel, R&B, Soul, Funk, Blues, Boogie, Jazz, and Broadway.
Scott is currently a keyboardist for a mostly African-American church where he has served since 2007. He also plays for an Hispanic church, and even speaks Spanish (albeit slowly!).
Scott also plays for all other religions, cultures and lifestyles. Dallas/Ft.Worth is very diverse!
Let Scott help you make your party, wedding, cocktail hour, reception, convention, corporate event, funeral, memorial or celebration a success by bringing something beyond the ordinary. You'll find him very easy to work with, and his outgoing personality will make your guests feel welcome and at home. He will help you be the perfect event planner and host!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I give you a quote based on the info you share in your request. Some additional details that sometimes come up are if you need a song that I don't already know, or additional equipment needed like my Grand Piano Shell, mics, speakers, or battery for locations without electricity. My piano and X stand are free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
12 years classical training and over 40 years professional experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
About $160 the first hour, and $100 an hour after that which can be prorated, and 80 cents per mile round trip to your event.
How did you get started in this business?
I started when I was 18, so I have many reviews on other sites - I am new to this site (Dec. 29, 2021)!
Great reviews to come as I start gaining clients with Fash like on my other sites! I am the top cover song pianist in Dallas/Fort Worth!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I play for all religions, cultures and lifestyles. Dallas/Fort Worth is very diverse!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Instrumental piano is great for setting a mood that your guests can enjoy while they talk with one another (a singer in the same range as their conversation can make it hard to have a conversation) It is also great for events like weddings where I can time the music to your needed timeline, like when a bride gets to the altar in 30 seconds, not 3 minutes like most song tracks.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is a piano at the venue or am I using my free piano? Parking? Attire? Songs or styles you would like? Breaks? Additonal equipment needed?
