Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
They text me via Instagram dm and we discuss the style, price, and the hair that is going to be needed. I recommend cheap hair brands that work as well as the higher priced hair would just because I know some people are on a budget.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Box braids (any length/size): $50
Knotless braids:$60(small-medium) $55(large)
Lemonade braids: $60(small-medium) $55(large)
Soft locs (any size/length): $70
Boys Braiding: $35(simple) $40(complex)
How did you get started in this business?
I am a mixed child and I stay with my white mother. My step sister was fully black and had really pretty thick hair which she always wanted to straighten or perm which meant it would never grow. Eventually I decided to learn how to do some protective styles on her hair because we had to cut and regrow it because of all the damage. I began to post my work of her hair on my social media and others wanted to test out my hands as as well.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I can work with all hair types! So no matter your hair type, we can find the perfect style for you!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The most expensive braider is not the most experienced or the best! You do not have to find the highest price because you feel that will be the best. Ask for pictures of their work if you have not seen them yet and also make sure they are friendly! Nobody wants a quiet hair appointment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What style they want and their budget on that style. Some pros may get impatient if you are bidding prices or do not know the exact style you are wanting.
