About
I try to find a style that is for the individual. I take into consideration your hair texture, ability, lifestyle, and length of time you want to spend doing it. I am honest about what you want and the upkeep to maintain it. I love designing with color as well. A pop of color can go along way to make you look refreshed! I do continuing education every year although it is not mandatory in the state of Alabama, it is for me to keep current and to re-energize my hair brain. That's what has kept me in this industry and happy for over 30 yrs. I look forward to meeting you and helping make your life easier one strand at a time 😊
I love change! Whether it is drastic (on me only) or subtle. You... I will question, because "there is NO Crying in Hairdressing!" Sometimes we WANT, but don't always REALLY Want change-and regrete it later. Knowing the difference is Essential to having a good relationship in the chair with the person who occupies it at that time! I love color: Natural, Fashion, Pops of light, etc. I LOVE to be Creative! This isn't work to me; this is 8-10 hrs of a FUN outlet for my creativity for the past 30+ years!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do a text consultation (would like a personal picture of your hair and what you might like to achieve) then we can discuss price range and amount of time it will take to get there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the industry for 30+ years. I believe in continuing education even through I have NEVER lived in a state that has required it, it is mandatory to me to help my "Hair Brain" stay creative. Deva Curl certified stylist, Creative Master Technician, John Amico Biovita Shine trained(Italian colour), BBA in Business Administration, Former TN Spa Owner (Avanti Day Spa- Clarksville TN)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I have starting prices for hair services depending on the length, thickness, and amount of work that needs to be done to accomplish your look. Nail services are standard and usually don't change. I give my clients nail art free if I am allowed to choose the design, if you choose the design you pay for the design.
How did you get started in this business?
Many moons ago I had a roommate that gave me a set of Acrylic Nails for Christmas and then taught me how to do my own refills. Her boss saw my work and told me to go to his school (QCC) so I did. He hired me before I got out of school! The rest is history as they say...LOL. I was so lucky to have found a person who believed in my talent and I didn't have to interview until I moved here in 2013. My reputation had always preceded me and I am happy to say that I LOVE change, but I'm NOT a "Shop Hopper!"
What types of customers have you worked with?
In my 30+ years ALL types. I've only fired 5 from my chair, so I'm pretty easy going. My phiosophy: We need to find our "Hair" therapist. That one person who we can trust, connect with and respect their opinion. And we don't always have to agree on everything, that keeps life interesting. I'm not a cookie cutter hairdresser, my signature is your happiness. If I'm not the one for you, it is simple, find who is! Life is too short to be miserable...Now with that being said, keep in mind that I might need a second chance to actually achieve what you want depending on the severity of what you choose.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Joico Global Education in Punta Cana Domician Republic-January 2018. Hair show with TONS of education and vacation in an amazing tropical place. I don't need to describe this, just know IT WAS AWESOME!!!!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Communication! Make sure you see the lightbulb go off in their eyes BEFORE you let them pick up scissors...and if someone rushes you through then you are not getting their full attention. You are a number to fill their quota or $$$ in their pocket. I like text communications with pictures of ideas you are looking at, Pinterest is AWESOME! Feel free to follow me and send oodles I will create a board for YOU. ;-)
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How much is the upkeep? How long will it take? How often do I need to come back? How long have you been in this salon,(if under 5 years, how long in the previous salon?) Hairdressers like change and are known for salon jumping, if you find your "Hair" therapist you want to know that you can find her/him again.
