One Step Beyond Productions originated from Southern California in 1987 and now services the Phoenix, AZ area. I’ve DJ’d at a wide variety of events to include weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, proms, sorority/fraternity events, nightclubs, corporate events, etc. I have a wide selection of music to include 70’s, House, Hip-Hop, R&B, Cumbia, Salsa, Rock en Español, Norteño, Banda, Country, etc.
I take great pride in knowing each event is unique not only for you but also for your guests, and will do all I can to make sure everyone has an amazing time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every event is unique just like every client is unique. In order to properly plan for an event, I like to meet with my clients to get to know them and get their feedback on how they envision their event. For formal events like weddings, I use the information I gather to put together a detailed timeline of the day to make sure we have a formal guide to make your event
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self taught DJ and have been doing this since 1987. I grew up in a musical family as my father and brother are professional musicians, and I played the trumpet through college, so music is in my blood. I do not do this because I have to... I do this because I love sharing my love of music with my clients.
How did you get started in this business?
By the time I went to my first school dance in 7th grade, I had accumulated about one crate of records that I bought with my allowance. I saw the DJ at the dance and knew then that I want to do what he did. My father bought me my first pair of turntables when I was a sophomore in high school and the rest is history.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with young kids playing for junior high and high school dances to adults at corporate and holiday events. I am an open format DJ which means I play a wide variety of genres, so I can cater to all types of events and clients.
