Sandy Hathaway Music
About
Sandy Hathaway has an extensive music library and can create a show in one or many genres; including, but not limited to Adult Alternative, Rock, Blues, Country, Pop, R&B, Top 40, Opera, Classical, and more. I have performed at many venues in Arizona. I have been on the program for entertainment at Scottsdale and Chandler Artwalks and Downtown events for over twenty years.
I try to play each song as soulful as I can using the years of knowledge and skills that I have acquired along the way. I really love it when people express how good they feel when they hear their favorite song. I like reading the room and playing songs that the audience loves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to be transparent so that there are no surprises. I Email or bid through an online bidding process. I look carefully at the details to ensure that I am bidding according to the cost of travel, performance time, and other important information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as a-time musician for 25 years. I have a master's in education and have a teaching certificate, have studied Classical guitar for over three years, and have been a continuous voice student for more than ten years. I have studied voice and I teach voice and guitar in my home.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a base price of $150 and depending on difficulty, venue, location, and time I quote higher if this applies.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always played guitar and sang, when I moved to Arizona I noticed many venues around me that support live music. My first demo was made on a boom box in my bathroom in 2000. I brought it to a coffee shop and they hired me for Friday and Saturday the next weekend. There used to be many coffeehouses that hired singers. I moved to larger venues when many of these coffee shops no longer supported live music. I play in wine rooms, restaurants, festivals, and public and private events.
What types of customers have you worked with?
As a full-time musician, I have worked with a large variety of customers. Realtors, venue powers, festival organizers, private parties, corporate events, coffee shops, wedding organizers and couples, and studio engineers have made up a diverse, fun, and interesting client base.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Lately, I have been playing at various Black Angus restaurants and have had a very good response from the managers, staff, and customers. One of the bartenders told me, "hands down, you are the best singer we have had since we started doing music."
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check the musician's website, and look at their current and past list of gigs they have and will play. Listen to a few songs on Youtube to see if this is the sound you want for your event.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The client should inform about stairs, elevators, long distances to carry equipment, and if they desire to have the musician play longer.
