Being able to read your crowd and picking the correct songs for the crowd are crucial. I'm my 18 years of DJing this is where the experience factor kicks in. Once the right genre gets them out I build from there and keep it going from there on. Nothing like having a full dance floor and feeding off the energy and keeping the night going the way it's supposed to. Also, taking requests to make sure the crowd is getting what they want to hear. Some DJ's don't like this aspect but I actually encourage it to insure that your crowd is happy and keeps the party going. Getting on the mic and encouraging them to come out to the dance floor as well is another way to keeping the party going. These are some of the ways I believe in making sure to keep the party going throughout the night.
