Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We really love working with people of all backgrounds who want that live music experience at their event. Once we know we are available, it is really easy to book us. A simple contract and retainer secures the date. We then can go over music selections, timing, and anything special that we need to know. On the day of, we show up early, set up, perform, and that's it. We are a really simple group to hire.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our musicians have over 25 years of performance with symphonies, stage shows, teaching, or similar musical experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Typically we have a two hour minimum but we can do one hour depending on the location. For our primary quintet, two hours is $1250, and for our trio, it is $950.
If the event is a special concert or if it's a shorter event located in central San Diego, we are happy to offer a one hour booking of $750 for the quintet, $550 for the trio.
How did you get started in this business?
Most of us started performing in middle school, and we love music. Professional, we all met while performing in different ensembles around San Diego, and formed this group to offer something unique, lively, fun, and totally different, while making live classical-ish music available to anyone.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work well with everyone. On the corporate/event side, we've worked with cities and special districts, large corporations, conference planners, and holiday event organizers like the Little Italy Tree Lighting and December Nights in Balboa Park.
On the private side, we've performed at weddings, housewarming parties, holiday events, birthday celebrations, and we love putting on concerts at community events/churches/libraries and other forums for music lovers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Please head to our website and read our blog - we are always writing about fun events or new locations we've been invited to perform at!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Book us early - we are usually pretty busy in our professional lives and book out around 6 months in advance. Of course there are still opportunities to hire us within that time frame, but the earlier the better.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What location will you be putting the live music ensemble? Will you need them to be amplified or bring any equipment? How long do you want live music? Is there going to be a break in the performance for speeches/other events?
