What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Offer a cold or hot beverage then I usually spend about 15 minutes talking to the guest while they are sitting in the chair - Desired look, lifestyle, expectations, and budget are all very important factors before we start the service.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 1986. I have attended many extensive courses including Percision cuts and advanced facial techniques. I am a trained henna expert, as well as certified hair color specialist. I am well versed in natural ingredients and can spot dangerous ingredients in many hair and skin-care lines. I have owned several salons throughout my career and currently only offering organic, vegan products from small businesses. Due to Covid shutdown, I recently closed my salon in downtown Boca Raton but I still offer all these services in a safe and disinfected environment.

How did you get started in this business?
I started out as a certified make up artist in 1984 and then got my cosmetology license in 1986 working full time. I have been self employed since 1990.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have been in the business for over 30 years and I have done just about everything! I work great with Caucasian hair, wavy hair, curly hair, kinky hair including ethnic hair. Men, women and children. I have been a hair color specialist since 1990 but i’m highly skilled precision haircutter also. I also use fair trade reusable human hair extensions for those with thinning hair or want an immediate change from short to long. They look so natural. And you can wash/brush/finger through your hair with ease! And very affordable!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very fond of doing Feng Shui Personal Profiles. This is a unique service that I offer which will determine your best colors, shapes and angles to big up your personal qi (pronounced chi). In Feng Shui, there are 5 elements: Water, Earth, Fire, Metal, and Wood. Everybody has 2 elements. It is good Feng Shui to enhance your elements. From your DOB and my own program, I will determine your elements and share with you how to enhance them with the correct colors and shapes. I will also share with you which angles and directions are best as well. Good Feng Shui helps to improve finances, heath and relationships. It can even help to prevent accidents.

Find out if their license is current, how long they have doing the service, and where they were trained. Also ask if they guarantee their services. And find out if their products that they use are fair-trade and cruelty free. Also, what makes their services unique and standout from the rest.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Allergies? Hair or scalp issues? budget? If you need evening or weekend appointments.
