Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With each new guest, we like to schedule an additional 30 minutes prior to their scheduled services to ensure that we have an opportunity to ask questions about what services they have had done in the past and what types of services they would like to have done in the future.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since 1990, advanced training has been an important part of our continued education. These trainings include classes in Atlanta, New York and London. We also hold the Redken Certified Haircolor Specialist designation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We list a range of prices for each service on our website.
How did you get started in this business?
In 1976 I began my interest in hair and makeup. Over the next several years I continued my research. I graduated High School Cume Laude in 1982, I obtained my AA Degree in 1986 and my BS Degree in 1988, then graduated Beauty College in 1989 and opened Dawchers in 1990.
Although I had a desire at an early age to pursue the beauty industry, I was encouraged by my mom to secure a firm foundation in education and business, which would help me with any future endeavor. I believe it has.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I enjoy working with clients on reinventing themselves, whether it is a new look, a grand adventure, or their wedding day. Each guest is individual and deserves undivided attention to meet their needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Sometimes, less is more.
A recent guest who had experienced severe postpartum hair loss came in and was willing to cut her hair into a very short pixy and allow it to grow out from there, even though she and her husband prefer her with longer hair.
Based on the vintage shirt she was wearing during our consultation, I asked if she was willing to consider rocking some micro bangs instead.
Success! We cut the back of her hair up to her collar, disconnect the front to keep her length and cut some sweet micro bangs.
She was thrilled and I couldn't have been more pleased too!
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Communication and Connection are the keys to a successful relationship and experience.
Questions are Good! Ask lots of them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
For weddings:
How many people are you able to accommodate?
Do you provide services in salon or on site?
Is there a travel fee?
