FAQs


What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to personalize every part of the event to each client's preferences.  A phone or video conference is sometimes the best first step.  I then like to meet with the client in person before the event to go over the details and to ensure their peace of mind.  
My goal is for each client to view me, not as a "vendor," but as a trusted extension of their friends and family.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked very hard to develop and improve my skills.  I am the Past President of the Georgia Mobile Disc Jockey Assoc.; a presenter/trainer at regional and national DJ conferences; a published author in DJ trade magazines.

I have also dedicated myself to the craft of being a skilled Master of Ceremonies by earning the CTM designation in Toastmasters, International; a keynote speaker and Associate Member of the National Speakers Association - Georgia; a stand-up comedian performing at The Punchline, The Laughing Skull, and other venues; a radio personality for WLVG radio. 


Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

What I do is not "typical" so there is not a "one-size-fits-all" pricing package.  Everything is catered to each client's event given the logistics involved and their unique vision.  All of the various options are explained in our phone conference.


How did you get started in this business?

Long before I got into DJing, I always had a passion for a wide variety of music and had a pretty cool home stereo that I would bring out to just play music in high school and college.  I had a gift of being able to "read the crowd" and determine the right mix to create a fun party atmosphere.

When a church friend got engaged and said she wanted me to be the DJ/MC for her wedding, I told her I couldn't -- I had never even BEEN to a wedding and I didn't have professional equipment to do that.  She insisted and I ended up investing in professional equipment (and back up equipment) and going to be a "free roadie" for other DJs for the next several months learning the ins and outs.

I developed my own detailed planning forms to ensure every detail was covered and by the time her wedding came around, I knew it would be a home run... and it was!

From there, I have been sought after (primarily through word of mouth) from clients whom have flown me all over the country and even internationally to DJ/MC their events.

I love what I do and I take such pleasure in creating memories that my clients will cherish for a lifetime.


What types of customers have you worked with?

I have DJed/MCed weddings and events for professional recording artists, TV celebrities, NFL head coaches, professional NBA teams, but what I am most proud of is when "regular" couples entrust me with such a critical role as their DJ/MC on the most important day of their lives.  


What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Begin with the end in mind... and ask yourself what do you want your guests saying about your event in the days, weeks, months, and years to follow.  Whomever you have as the DJ/MC for your event is going to "make or break" your entire event.  Make SURE it is someone with whom  you have a great rapport; someone in whom you have supreme confidence to ensure that YOUR wishes will be followed; someone with the personality and presence to skillfully engage your guests; with professional equipment (AND back up equipment on site); fully insured; with a legal and extensive music library; and someone who is an excellent Master of Ceremonies.
