Quaint
About
La Quan Lark Okaiteye is a woman whose life and work have crossed the worlds of ministry, music, literature, business, and community service. For more than 25 years, she has served in ministry within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC),and an additional 15 years in ministry at Powerhouse Chicago. Her ministry experience has helped shape her commitment to faith, service, leadership, and using her gifts to strengthen others.
But ministry is only one part of her story.
La Quan is a writer, published author, singer, and musician, bringing together a love for words and music that has followed her throughout her life. As an author writing under the name La Quan Lark, her published works include When Trust Is Broken, Living My Own Truth, Shattered Pieces: A Look Through the Looking Glass, and All the Things You Didn’t Say: Be It Now Resolved. She is also an entrepreneur and the force behind Quaint, reflecting another side of her creativity and business experience. Her professional work extends into grant writing and organizational development where she works with 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and businesses, helping them turn ideas into structured programs, proposals, funding strategies, and opportunities for growth.
What makes La Quan’s journey distinctive is that she has never allowed herself to be defined by just one title. She can move from the pulpit to the page, from music to business, and from creative vision to the detailed work of developing a grant proposal. Whether she is preaching, writing, singing, working in corporate America, building a business, or helping an organization pursue funding the common thread is service and the desire to leave something meaningful behind.
La Quan Lark Okaiteye is clergy, a creative, an entrepreneur, an author, and a grant writer, but above all, she is a woman who believes that every chapter of life can still be written with purpose.
