I am a Lutheran pastor, interested in serving couples interested in Christian weddings, (but with LOTS of customizing options). I am trained to do premarital counseling, and have been helping couples, including GLBT couples, to begin joyful marriages, for 26 years. Ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, but willing to speak with and to anyone wanting to honor God in their wedding & life.

I love working with couples! We'll start with a free meeting, after which you can decide if you want to work with me, (don't think I've ever decided there's a couple I didn't want to work with)

    Talk with them over the phone to set up an in person, free meeting.  Chat a bit.  Get to know what they're looking for.

    Let them know that I work with couples who do premarital education with me, or with someone else. (In Minnesota, if you do 12 hours of premarital education, you get a less expensive marriage license.)

    Let them know my usual payment plan, and how I like to set up the premarital counseling & all.

    Ask them to let me know within a week if they'd like to work with me.  Or, if they know then, set up first premarital & wedding planning appts.

    Ordained pastor in the ELCA, including extensive training in pastoral care.  Trained to use Prepare/Enrich premarital assessment.  Ordained 26 years.  Doing weddings all 26 :)

    Am also a licensed parent/family educator in Minnesota's Early Childhood/Family Education program.  Teaching 30 years.

    With 12 hours of premarital education, planning the wedding & all, $800. (Premarital relationship inventory costs an additional $40)
    I was ordained, and it comes with the territory, being a Lutheran pastor. And I love working with couples, and building families.
    Most types. Young people, close out of high school, older couples, coming together after previous relationships, people who want children, people who don't.
    A couple summers ago, did the wedding of a couple with 3 children under 5, and they all had, (albeit small) parts in the wedding. It was a joyously fun day, wedding & reception, friends & family, and I loved being part of it.
    Meet them in person, and see what you think, before you commit to making a commitment to work with someone.
    What you're willing to commit to, financial & time, in beginning a relationship I believe we all hope at that point will be lifelong. (My husband & I have been married 47 years.) Be honest about what you're looking for in an officiant, and think together whether this person is a good match for you.
